MedYacht became known for importing and distributing Al Dahen open boats, sleek deep-V hulls, powered by outboard engines and built at the eponymous shipyard in Bahrain, in the Persian Gulf. When MedYacht decided to produce a boat under its own name, the choice naturally turned to Bahrain for construction.

On the contrary to the layout of the deck, the interior of the Med 45 seems a bit cramped. The descent, located at the command post level, provides access to a kitchen with a refrigerator and storage, a spacious aft cabin, a bathroom, and a small forward cabin. The space in the latter is so limited that some opt for a single cabin. The boat's maximum propulsion is planned for 2 x 435 hp, but judging by the resulting performance (no more than 35 knots), it should actually be considered as a minimum.

These boats share a common aesthetic trait, characterized by a distinct design highlighted by a straight bow and, above all, an open plan oriented towards the sea. With a length of 14.90 meters, including the long swim platform, the Med 45 is an imposing and spacious open yacht.

In 2009, the relocation of the company to Saint-Tropez - in direct contact with a clientele somewhat sheltered from the ravages of the crisis - allowed for an unexpected growth boost. Mediaco Yachts distributed prestigious brands such as Al Dhaen Craft, Sea Water, expanded its rental fleet, and increased its boat storage facilities. Concurrently, father and son wanted to materialize a project close to their hearts: creating their own brand and designing a boat according to their vision. "We believed there was something different to be done", emphasized Alexandre-Jacques Vernazza. In 2010, Med Yacht was established, and by 2011, the first boat was unveiled at the Cannes Boat Show. Perfectly aligned with the trend of chic sporting yachts at that time, the Med 45 quickly captivated enthusiasts with its sleek design. Both the public and specialized press praised the sharp and dynamic design of the silhouette, as well as the comfortable layout of this maritime lounge.

Onboard, the flow between the aft salon, the spacious foredeck with a sunbathing area, the two double cabins with ensuite bathrooms, and the salon with a kitchen is perfectly seamless. It's the ideal setup for short cruises! Designed by Marseille-based architect Gilles Vaton, the sharply V-shaped hull performs splendidly. Inspired by working boats like pilot boats, it guarantees impeccable maritime behavior for the Med 45. Built in Bahrain by Al Dhaen Craft, the Med 45 has seen a certain level of success: ten units have been sold. A commendable number in this segment of the 15-meter open yacht, where competition is fierce and highly innovative.

To enhance Med Yacht, Alexandre-Jacques Vernazza revamped the concept in 2013, along with the manufacturing process. For the new boat, he retained the overall modern, elegant spirit while enhancing the onboard livability, comfort level, quality of services, equipment, and finishes. Wider and longer, the deck plan integrates a 2.3-meter tender garage. A new windshield, topped with a hardtop featuring an electric bimini, provides optimal protection. The interior designs receive a stylistic boost, offering a wide range of color options for leather, linings, and woodwork - all as standard! Powered by 2 x 600 horsepower IPS 800 Volvo engines, the ensemble should reach 40 knots, whereas the previous model was limited to 33 knots with 2 x 435 horsepower IPS 600. Marketed from 600,000 euros before tax, the new Med 48 is called the CJV edition, named after Christian-Jacques Vernazza.

An homage from the son to his father, who passed away in 2013. « It's a joint project that we accomplished together out of passion, but not only... MedYacht is a real business. It's an industrial project. » In this regard, the boats are constructed in Poland, at the Galeon shipyard. 'Relocating' to Europe offers many advantages, including better oversight and shorter distances. « At Galeon, there's a significant improvement in the quality of finishes. » To praise the merits of its latest creation, the President of the powerful Mediaco group knows how to be the best advocate for the young Med Yacht shipyard. « It's a magnificent boat. More refined, better conceived than those of the competition. We're in a different league... » With four units already sold from plans, slated for delivery during the summer season, the CJV edition seems destined for a bright future. The Good Life – June 2016

Today, version 3 showcases new ambitions, and it took two years of reflection and work to finalize all the changes, starting with the selection of a new shipyard. The first two versions were built in Bahrain in the Persian Gulf. Now, in Poland at the Galeon shipyard, the Med48 are produced under license, providing real technological mastery throughout all stages of manufacturing.

With its taut silhouette, high-performance hull crafted by the Frenchman Gilles Vaton, and a deck plan designed to maximize the enjoyment of life at anchor, Med yachts are easily recognizable in the ports of the French Riviera. With its new 52-foot model, the company based in the Gulf of Saint-Tropez extends a recipe that has already proven successful across nearly 16 meters, all while taking into account feedback from its clientele.

With its sleek silhouette, high-performance hull designed by Gilles Vaton, and deck plan optimized for maximum enjoyment while at anchor, Med boats are now easily recognizable in the ports along the French Riviera. With two models, 42 and 52 feet respectively, manufactured at the Galeon shipyard in Poland, this French firm has successfully established itself as one of the prominent names in the European market for large open yachts. Their distinctive feature? Sharp, clean, and distinctive lines, almost as if they were cut with precision, featuring nearly vertical planking.

The clever layout of their decks, with only a single level difference, also favors these units capable of accommodating two or three cabins. The customized approach practiced by the shipyard, offering a wide range of choices in materials, fabrics, and layouts, also contributes significantly to the brand's success.

Neptune, issue number 295 - April 2021.

This day-boat, just under 13 meters, competes with Fiart, Fjord, Pardo, and other Solaris models. It has been crafted with the design touch of Italian designer Enrico Gobbi, resulting in softer and less taut lines compared to its predecessor.

On the hull, Gilles Vaton remains at the helm, drawing inspiration for the hull design from pilothouses. The prominent V-shape at the bow is complemented by three prominent strakes and a pronounced chine to ensure comfortable sea passage and effective wave deflection.

This hull design is compatible with Z-drive or IPS propulsion, and an outboard version (with 2 x 600 horsepower or 3 x 300 horsepower) is scheduled for October 2021. Manufactured since 2014 in Galeon's factories in Poland, Med Yachts are customizable. The Med 42 is no exception, allowing prospective owners to choose from various upholstery and wood finishes.
